Homeward Bound

This is a 6″x8″ oil painting on hardboard offered with or without a gold color metal leaf frame

Just before the holiday season I invariably create a series of smaller paintings of various subject matter within a landscape. Most often that subject matter is sheep, firstly because of the biblical meaning of The Lamb of God and secondly, well I just love them. I very much enjoy painting them and love visiting local farms as well as agricultural fairs during the fall just to interact with the sheep. I can’t resist just burring my fingers deep within their waxy wool or feeling the tickle of their mouth in my palm as I feed them. So it is their very nature which inspires me to paint them.
