Abstract realism is a term often used to describe my style of painting and I feel this painting is a true reflection of the term. When I visit a scene, at times, there seems to be so much going on that it can become visually overwhelming. In a situation of the such I instruct myself to simplify which in itself can be a challenge. I think about the big shapes happening rather than the individual pieces of the scene. The result of this approach lends itself to a more abstract finished product.
